Under the direction of the Bowling Equipment Mechanic:
Adjusts, overhauls, installs and repairs bowling facility electricaland mechanical equipment, which may include automatic pinsetters,automatic ball returns, foul units, speed cradle stops, telescoreunits, automatic ball and pin cleaners, lane maintenance machinesand hole borers.
Assists in diagnosing malfunctioning equipment, referring to manualsfor diagrams and specifications. Assists in disassembling andreplacing or repairing electrical and mechanical parts or componentsusing soldering irons, welding equipment, pliers, screwdrivers,wrenches and other hand tools.
Cleans and lubricates machines, ball returns, pinsetters and otherrelated mechanic equipment. Measures and regulates pinsetters usinghand tools and gauges, periodically runs pinsetters through completecycles and inspects for pinsetting accuracy.
Assists in conditioning, maintaining and repairing bowling pins andlanes, repairing cracks, chips, splinters using plastic or wood lanestock; sands and recoats surfaces as needed.
Complies with fire, safety, sanitation and security procedures andregulations. Keeps up-to-date on repair procedures, bowling centerpolicies, written instructions and department directives.
Assists in maintain the bowling facility, such as mechanical,electrical and plumbing repairs, cleans and paints walls andceilings, replaces air filters and assists with any relatedmaintenance not performed by PWD. Assists with building maintenanceand cleaning, to include stocking and cleaning bathrooms, picking uppatron areas, and policing grounds including weeding, picking uptrash, snow removal, etc. as assigned.
Performs any other related duties as assigned.
4819 Bowling Equipment Repairing

This position has been identified as an entry-level developmentalposition for the purpose of training the incumbent to perform morecomplex and responsible duties.
Formal training in bowling equipment maintenance and repair ispreferred buy may be substituted by two years practical experienceworking on Brunswick or AMF bowling machines. Must possessdocumented ability to perform tasks involving general maintenanceand repair of electrical, mechanical, painting and plumbing.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIORONMENT
The incumbent generally works in a well-ventilated, heated or cool,adequately lit facility and is subject to noise and possible seriousinjury while working around and evaluating equipment that is inoperation. Subject to cuts, bruises and other minor injuriesassociated with repair work and use of hand tools. The incumbent mayoften work in uncomfortable positions, and must be able to stand,crouch, stoop, bend, reach, push and pull for extended periods whileperforming work. Requires lifting of up to 45 pounds unassisted,heavier items are lifted with assistance. In the patron area, theincumbent may be subject to cigarette smoke, alcohol consumption,and rough language.
This position is subject to an irregular tour of duty, which mayinclude evenings, weekends and holidays.
